Description
I'm a guitarist, and firmly stuck in a rut. At this point, I only come up with about one riff a month, and a lot of them aren't even good. It's clear to me that if I keep playing alone, I'll just keep stagnating. So, I'm looking for other musicians who would like to collaborate on an ongoing basis.
I prefer to be an electric player, utilizing a small array of pedals, but recently, I've mostly been practicing acoustic due to thin walls. I'm fine with playing either, depending on what kind of sound you're looking for.
I don't care much about what instrument you play, nor do your influences or background matter to me; I love playing, and the further away from my style you are, the more likely it is that us jamming will break me out of my rut. If you're a singer looking to have music set to your lyrics, that may even be best; I've been playing instrumental so long that I don't know if I can work with a vocalist, and that's a flaw I'd like to correct.
My intention is to just have some casual jams to give me inspiration, but I'm not opposed to the idea of beginning a serious project if we come up with anything worth pursuing.
We can discuss availability, but weekends would probably be best. I don't have any intention of locking you into a fixed schedule, but I would ask that if we do set a time to meet, you honor that commitment.
Have car, will travel.
Even though I said influences don't matter, here are some of mine to give you an idea of what kind of player I fancy myself;
Rush
King Crimson
Black Sabbath
Frank Zappa
Marillion
Gentle Giant
