Description
Registration Temporarily Closed: As we continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 Pandemic we have made the decision to temporarily close registration for this event until public health policies regarding large scale gatherings become clear again. If it is ultimately determined with state and local officials that we are unable to host the event, all registrants will be automatically deferred to next year’s event. We are unable to process any refunds. Event Overview The eighth annual Ocean Road 10k will be held on October 4, 2020. A percentage of proceeds from every entry fee will benefit the Narragansett Historical Society. This scenic, flat 10k course starts at the Pt. Judith Lighthouse, runs north on Ocean Road under the famed Narragansett Towers and finishes in the northern parking lot at Town Beach. The race was recently voted the "Best 10K" in the Northeast by Competitor Magazine. COVID-19 Refund Policy:We are unable to process any refunds in these devastating and unpredictable times due to the novel COVID-19 pandemic. If it is determined by state and local officials that we are unable to host the event as planned, all registrants will be automatically deferred to next year’s event. REGISTRATION TRANSFERS - ONE WEEK A request must be sent no later than one week prior to the event by the runner who purchased the registration with the name, address, email, gender and date of birth of the runner taking their place to [email protected]. A registration transfer processing fee of $15 will be incurred. DEFERRALS - ONE WEEK A deferred registration is $20. Those who request to defer to the following year will be provided with a registration link and instructed to register their deferral as soon as possible through Eventbrite.com. Upon receiving a confirmation email after registering the deferral, they will be registered for the coming year’s event and it will require no further action. Contact us at [email protected] to request a deferral. EXTREME WEATHER POLICY Our events are held rain or shine. However, there is always the potential for extreme or severe weather conditions. Race organizers will do as much as we can to ensure the experience is as safe as possible. In the event of severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers. If there is more than a short delay, if conditions persist, or the forecast calls for extreme weather, race officials reserve the right to alter or cancel the race. We do not schedule "rain dates". Any decision to cancel an event is done as an absolute last resort and is made collectively with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate. In such situations, there will be NO REFUNDS as registrants accept any such risk of their entry free when signing up. Please check the website, our Facebook page, and your email before the race for any changes or cancellations.
