Description

2.5 hour tour covering how cacao is grown and turned into chocolate. 1/2 outside in the tropical cacao orchard and 1/2 indoors tasting! Private tour of just your party visiting a Hawaiian Cacao (or Cocoa) Orchard just 10 minutes south of Kona. This is a pristine, mature orchard with nearly 2,000 cocoa trees under a refreshingly cool natural tree canopy that grows delicious cocoa bean organically. We will stroll the tropical cocoa orchard and view how cocoa is grown and where your favorite food, chocolate, comes from! You will handle fresh cocoa pods, open and taste fresh fruit and pulp you can't taste at home. You will then explore how beans are converted to chocolate and then retreat into the air conditioned guest shop to taste a variety of chocolate - dark, milk, and white as well as from different regions of Hawaii and the world. Chocolate will never be the same - it will be tastier! Appropriate for all ages. The orchard terrain is uneven and has inclines for portions. We encounter mixed rocks and gravel.  Soap Factory on premise with amazing natural soaps using premium ingredients and cocoa parchment! COVID19 - we have changed this from mixed-group $25/person tours to only single group tours due to discomfort guests feel when mixed. We will lower the price and have larger audiences when science permits. Please inform us ahead of time if any accessbility requirements are needed. Reservations are required at least 12 hours ahead of time - our cocoa expert prepares only for the amount reserved.  REFUNDS - allowed up to 7 days prior.  *Although rare, tour will proceed in wet weather, we have umbrellas.  **You can book private tours for times that fit your schedule - contact us!
