More Than 1K Coats, Scarves Donated To Roswell Families In Need

ROSWELL, GA — More than 1,260 new and gently worn coats along with 2,600 scarves, hats, gloves and other accessories donated by Roswell community members were distributed this month to neighbors in need. The North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) helped families gear up for winter weather during its annual Warm Coats event held November 5-7 at The Cooler Alpharetta, according to a news release. "More than ever the Warm Coats program is helping families save money on necessary items, which frees up income to put toward housing," said Holly York, executive director, NFCC in a statement. "With costs increasing for food, clothing, and housing, NFCC hopes to ease hardship for thousands of individuals in our north Fulton community. We are so grateful for all the donations to make this program happen." Now in its 27th year, the 2021 Warm Coats Drive was presented by Emory Johns Creek Hospital with Renasant Bank as a friend sponsor and The Cooler Alpharetta as a facility sponsor. The coat drive kicks off NFCC's holiday programs for families in need. Other holiday programs include the Thanksgiving Food Program in November and Toyland Shop in December.
