Looking for a cello teacher

There’s something so beautiful about the cello sound and I badly want to learn from an experienced cellist how to play in person. I want to buy an acoustic/electric cello but I don’t want to waste my money as I don’t know what to look for in a quality cello. I’m 38 and am very serious about learning. I’ve been in rock/metal bands for the past 15+ years.
