Sports Camera Operator - Handy Cam Needed

Events

Description

We have a football kicking camp taking place on Sat & Sun, December 4-5 at Del Valle HS (a few miles from the Austin-Bergstrom airport) and we're in need of (4) RELIABLE sports videographers, i.e. video camera operators with their own handy cam or professional video camera (cannot be a DSLR). It is Essential for you to have a good-sized viewfinder at least 4" but preferably a larger viewfinder at 6" or greater, and even better, an external display with a viewfinder hood as it is very difficult / nearly impossible to follow the ball correctly with an LCD below 4", especially outside in the sun. No dust or dirt on the lens/mirror so you can ensure a clear screen and quality video. Please be able to balance the light so the sky is not blown out with the ball becoming lost in the air. Must be able to consistently keep the kicker and the kicked football in frame with a smooth pan & tilt and slight zoom to follow the ball while keeping the football field at the bottom of the screen and the football nearest the top of the screen. This helps college coaches who evaluate 'film' of the high school students to get a proper read and perspective of just how they're kicking it and they can get an accurate stop-watch time. See example YouTube links further below. Camera must NOT be a DSLR, no exceptions. Handy cam or traditional professional video camera with a smooth zoom - must be a somewhat wider angle lens (not fish eye) for sports, 1440p or 1080p is good, NOT 4K and not 720p, shot at 30fps or 60fps, NOT 24fps or less. SHOOT TIMES Saturday 10:15am-3:30pm (5 hours) Sunday 9:30am-4:15pm (6.5 hours) (please arrive at least 20 min early on Day 1 so the 4 person video crew can sync up and get on the same page) PAY $275 total for shooting the 2-Day camp, paid via Venmo or Business check at the end of camp (approx. 430pm after stuff wraps up). DELIVERABLES At the end of each Day we will need to copy the files to my high capacity external zip drive or I can borrow the memory card to transfer the files to my laptop later that night and return the next morning. I can bring memory cards for each videographer to use if needed. Check out our youtube.com/kickingworld page to see who we are and get an idea of what we do. The event is fast-moving and we cannot afford someone who skips over details and doesn't get it right the first time. Here is a general example of what we're going for (kickoffs and punts are filmed from in the stands higher up with a side view, and field goals will be filmed on the field from a rear view): We will provide more in-depth instructions and a general schedule for the weekend if we work together. If you prove to be reliable and good to work with, we do these events a few times a year in Austin and Georgetown and I could use an ongoing person throughout our camp season. Please text your video reel or YouTube or Vimeo link, equipment you will use, and a quick bit about why you're the guy (or girl) for the job. Thanks for your time in reviewing and applying for this gig! -Coach Brent A side note - If you have any colleagues who can do this with you (we need 4 total videographers), let me know. Also we need to hire a separate crew for Sunday only to do the live stream event - so they would need to be a broadcast crew who can emulate something like this:
