Environmental Designs, Inc. is a full-service firm offering consultation, landscape design, construction, and maintenance services. We have been building and maintaining landscapes in Colorado since 1989. We are growing and are currently hiring a shop mechanic to immediately join our team in Brighton, Colorado. Purpose: Inspect and repair gasoline/diesel engines used to power landscape equipment, handheld equipment, and similar machines to ensure proper and safe use. Basic trailer knowledge, preventative maintenance, brake adjustments, and electrical wire troubleshooting. Essential Duties: Locate causes of trouble, dismantles engines, and examine parts for defects. Replace, repair, and perform tune-ups as needed for a variety of equipment. Service of fleet vehicles. Replace engines on small equipment. Perform DOT inspections on trailers prior to the expiration date. Tag any unsafe equipment. Assist in snow operations and facility maintenance. Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Address any abuse to Shop Manager. Qualifications: Six months to two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to complete work orders. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
