Hey fellow Austinites! I'm looking for some people to jam with a couple times a week and do an open mic once a week out at Whiskey Girl's Saloon. The open mic is in Manor but I live in East Austin. The open mic attendance isn't required if you just want to play some music, that's mostly what I'm trying to do is get some more experience playing with other people. I currently play keys in a band but we only meet every couple weeks and I need more jam time than that (and to play more than just that instrument!). I can play keys, guitar and bass all pretty well so I don't mind switching around. I just need people to play/sing with!
I've mostly been focusing on "drinking songs" to play at the open mic since its at a bar but I would love to do some other stuff with some help of other musicians. Rock, country, blues, folk, surf, funk and such are what I generally play but I've also been getting into some new wave/punk. As long as we have fun playing, that's what matters! I'm available all weeknights and weekends and I'll let you know when my band is practicing so you're never left in the dark.
