Job Summary: This is primarily work performing vegetation management through operation of slope mowing and batwing mowing equipment Job duties include: • The primary equipment to be operated includes slope mowing and batwing mowing equipment to maintain vegetation within the North Region, most of which is concentrated at Lake Apopka. Operate vehicles and equipment such as a pick-up, dump truck, front end loader, dozer, backhoe, grader, excavator, semi-tractor trailer and farm tractors with implements. Performs preventative maintenance on District vehicles and equipment. • Perform maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, grounds maintenance, tree trimming and tree removal. • Perform routine maintenance on water control structures, pumps, gate motors, engines, levees, canals and other related infrastructure. Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or G.E.D. and four years of experience as described above or formal education may substitute for work experience and a valid Florida Commercial Driver’s License, Class A with Endorsement N.
