This class is limited to active/current and retired Law Enforcement and Military ONLY!THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER CLASS!This class is intended for shooters who want to learn the skills to utilize their red dot optic sight in a precision shooting situation. Advanced level shooters will find this class to be an excellent review of their existing skills & experience new drills and techniques. This class is intended to instill in students the mindset and skills to allow them to use their red dot pistols as a precision defensive tool in a deadly force encounter. Students will come away from this class with a better understanding of their optics, and a higher level of confidence in their ability to effective operate and wield it. It is encouraged to run this class with the gear you would normally have in home defense or self defense situation. LE are encouraged to run this class in your duty gear. PREREQUISITES: Students should know and be able to perform all aspects of safe firearm handing, loading, unloading and malfunction clearing. Students should be familiar with the basics of shooting (grip, stance, breath control, trigger control, follow through, etc.) Topics for the class will include: Safety & Medical Brief Range orientation Sight Acquisition Shot Follow Up Weapon Zeroes Loading/Unloading Reloading Malfunctions Gripping the Pistol Shooting Positions Mechanical Offset Close Range Engagements Multiple Threats Turning & Shooting Shooting on the Move Moving to Cover Shooting From Cover Decision Making & Shoot/No Shoot Scenarios Class Requirements: -Quality functional semi-automatic pistol with RDS optic (Trijicon RMR, Holosun, Delta Point, Aimpoint ACRO, Sig Romeo, etc.) -5 magazines minimum -Minimum of 600 rounds of brass cased ammunition (no steel or aluminum cased ammunition) -Belt mounted quality holster / kydex holster —PLEASE NO flimsy nylon or cloth holsters. NO BLACKHAWK SERPA (unless issued to you), Alien Gear, Uncle Mike's, Fobus, or DeSantis holsters. We recommend holsters from Dark Star Gear, Raven Concealment, Blackpoint Tactical, Safariland, Black Center Tactical, Concealment Express, C&G Holsters & G-Code. -Magazine or loading device pouches / magazine carrier, etc. -Ammunition dump pouch (optional) -Sturdy belt at least 1.5” wide -Footwear suitable for rapid movement and turning with good ankle support. -Clothing suitable for training in any weather – long pants – long sleeve shirt, hoodie or jacket for cold weather. -Wraparound eyewear, polycarbonate lenses or non-shattering prescription glasses -Earmuffs and earplugs -Notebook and pen for note taking -Humble willing to learn attitude For more information or questions please contact: [email protected] ADDITIONAL INFO: This course is limited to 14 students only.
