Description
Join us for the 10th Annual I've Known Rivers Film Festival (IKRFF) offering an exciting mix of critical documentaries, shorts, & features!
The "I’ve Known Rivers Film Festival" (IKRFF) occurs each year in late November, offering attendees an exciting mix of documentaries, feature-length movies, delicious cuisine, and vendor’s booths.
Our theme this year is “Critical Race Theory: Social Justice By Any Means Necessary ”. Our keynote film is The Story of Nehanda!
Due to Covid-19, this year’s festival will be held as a pop-up outdoor drive-in at the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Mall, and all proceeds will benefit the Famli Inc. non-profit efforts. Gates will open nightly at 5pm, and guests are invited to arrive early to enjoy the sunset and order snacks from our food vendors before the films start.
This year’s festival is a gala fundraiser benefiting Famli Inc. and it’s “See a Man Be A Man” program, the South Los Angeles based award-winning high school curriculum of activities, mentorship, and interventions run by men of color supporting “at-risk” students in recognizing, articulating, and successfully navigating their life challenges.
Torrence Brannon is founding director of FA-MLI, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit agency (1992) with a mission to provide educationally & culturally stimulating programs, projects and services for youth and community members the world over!
