The parol is a traditional Christmas decoration in the Philippines. Come and make your own bamboo parol! The parol is an ornamental, star-shaped Christmas lantern from the Philippines that is traditionally made out of bamboo and paper. During the Christmas season, parols are the most popular decoration in various sizes and styles. Be creative in making your own 16 inch bamboo parol! All material provided. Light refreshments will be served. The House of the Philippines is a place to learn about the history, culture, and people of the Philippines with the mission of “Promoting Understanding of Filipino Culture” to San Diego county residents and tourists in Balboa Park.
