Join Illinois Humanities Road Scholar speaker Kim Sigafus McIver as she uses storytelling, song and drumming to present Native stories.
In this presentation, award-winning Ojibwa author Kim Sigafus McIver takes the audience through the American Indian way of life as it once was. Interweaving history, storytelling, songs and drumming, she will discuss the tribes that once inhabited Illinois as well as their Native traditions and culture prior to the Indian Removal Act that moved them westward. This program is supported by a grant from the Illinois Humanities Road Scholars program. All CDC rules will be followed regarding the use of masks in indoor spaces.
