CITY OF MADRAS Wastewater Operator I or II The City of Madras has a full-time position available for a Wastewater Operator I or II. Candidates must possess the equivalent to an associate degree in chemistry, biology, or a waste treatment discipline, plus certification as a Level I operator, and one year of experience in wastewater treatment operations. To be considered for WW II, applicants must have certification as a Level II operator, and three years of experience in wastewater treatment operations. Additional industry training or certification may substitute for some higher education. The Wastewater Operator I is the first level in a career path covering wastewater, storm water, and potable water distribution as part of a Level I through Level IV career ladder. Level I Operators have a DEQ Entry Operator certificate and can perform a full range of operations and monitoring under direct supervision. This position requires a valid Oregon driver’s license; must have or obtain within six (6) months from date of hire, a valid Oregon Class A CDL license, a Class B (Class A preferred) commercial driver’s license with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement. Must have and maintain a safe driving record. Monthly starting salary range is $3,770 to $4,658 DOE.
