Help us celebrate 2021 Computer Science Education Week with Hour of Code™ and an introduction to coding! Hour of Code™ is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming. Join the Tech Journey team for this free introductory workshop. Individuals age 7 and above are welcome to participate and receive an introduction to computer science and coding in a safe, supportive environment. Registration is required. Included in this workshop will be an overview of computer science and coding as well as a fun unplugged activity. Students will then work independently through a self-paced coding tutorial. No prior coding experience is needed but familiarity with a computer keyboard and mouse is helpful. All equipment will be provided. Parents, we encourage you to assist early readers and students who may not have much experience navigating a computer. Tech Journey is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to inspiring youth in central Iowa to increase their knowledge and interest in technology by providing engaging learning opportunities led by technology professionals.
