Description

Join us at Scrambled Jake's on November 18 as Marci Claude shares how Gatlinburg became America's Mountain Home of today. Bring a plus one! WHAT: Gatlinburg recently celebrated its Diamond Jubilee anniversary. Even though the pandemic curtailed some of the planned activities in 2020, the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau public relations team launched a campaign that included storytelling and bringing history to life through their website, videos, and a coffee table edition of the Gatlinburg Vacation Guide. Our November 18 meeting will feature Marci Claude, Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau public relations manager, as she tells the story of how Gatlinburg went from a little-known outpost of the Smokies in 1945 to America’s Mountain Home of today. Learn how they overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and implemented a campaign that is sure to be an award winner. WHERE: As we kick off the festivities of the holiday season, we thought we'd flip the script by doing breakfast for dinner. Our meeting will be hosted by Scrambled Jake's Breakfast Co. in the Rocky Hill area, and we'll kick things off at 6 PM. We'll have a breakfast buffet featuring waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, potato casserole, bacon, and sausage, and the bar will be open if you'd like to have a mimosa with your meal. NOTE: Food is included with the cost of your ticket, but cocktails/alcoholic beverages will be charged to each individual on a per-drink basis. WHO: We'd love to see as many PRSA and PRSSA members as possible! All attendees are welcome to bring a plus one, though we will be limited to about 50 people total. Please RSVP by Tuesday, November 16 at noon so we can give our hosts a final headcount. COST: $20 members/$25 non-members/$15 students
