Description
Please bring/share items that you have invented or discovered that has made your beekeeping easier! Such as swarm vacuums, feeders, etc Hello fellow BRBA members, Our November meeting is important in two ways: it will be our last meeting of 2021 and we will be electing new officers for 2022. As bee activity has slowed dramatically with the onset of Fall weather, it is a time to reflect on your 2021 beekeeping experiences: positive and negative. We encourage you to join and share your experiences and insights with your fellow BRBA members. So, bring/share items that you have invented or discovered that has made your beekeeping easier…such as swarm vacuums, swarm traps, hive beetle traps, frame building jigs, feeders, hive modifications, vaporizers for varroa, and Flow frames. Doors will open at 2:30 for a bit of social time prior to the start of our meeting. If you have a question or topic that you would like to hear more about during this meeting please contact us by replying to this email. BRBA TOOLS BRBA offers two exclusive benefits for members paying an additional $10 fee: A collection of pneumatic tools and jigs for assembly of frames. A Dadant electric 6/3 extractor with all the supplies to decap, screen, and bottle honey. If you have used these tools you know how valuable they are to your hive construction and honey harvesting. If you expect to use the tools in 2022 you will need to pay an additional $10, over the $5 membership fee. This additional fee is needed to cover the upkeep, maintenance, and possible repair/replacement of the equipment. AN APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS BRBA officer elections will be held at our meeting on Nov.21. Throughout the year I have appealed to you to become more involved in the BRBA by volunteering. We have officer roles that need your involvement to be successful. A shared workload will promote a stronger organization, but your BRBA involvement will be more personally rewarding. We need nominations for the all officer positions: president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary;. Please respond to this email, or to any of the officers or advisory committee, to nominate yourself or a member for an officer or advisory position. If nominating another member please ask for their approval prior to submitting your nomination. Email or call me (573-489-6424) if you want information on the time commitment each officer position requires; I’ll give you an honest assessment. Paul Beuselinck President
