Prospective guests include City Officials, Politicians, honorees, members of the Caucus and its Board of Executives ABOUT THE EVENT: The 40 Pro’s-to-Know Reception is an elite gathering highlighting Charleston area black community leaders for their contributions to the corporate and professional sectors impacting the success of the community overall. During this event you can count on networking with your favorite politicians, local professionals and many more. The event is scheduled 4 months prior to the 2-day Charleston Area Black Caucus Inaugural Convention. The convention will serve as a HUB event where policy makers, elected officials, academics, civic and religious leaders, and corporate citizens will convene to discuss community and legislative priorities for 2022-2023. WHO’S EXPECTED TO ATTEND: Prospective guests include City Officials, Politicians, honorees, members of the Caucus and its Board of Executives in an informative, interactive, and inspiring format TICKETS/GUESTS: This invitation includes a complimentary ticket for the honoree and up to one (1) additional guest. The Charleston Area Black Caucus was founded in January of 2020 as a Political Action Committee (PAC) by a group of local Millennial leaders who desired to ensure that the true influence of the African American Community in Charleston and its surrounding counties would be represented and respected amongst all political dealings within local, state, and national government. The Immediate 5 Year Plan: Register as many black voters as possible Educate the registered voters on the importance of registering and voting in every election cycle Provide Candidate forums where we vet and endorse candidates whom we believe will speak to the issues of the black community Lobby for issues that impact the black community; namely economic empowerment, social and civic welfare, education and political activity Hold fundraiser to build a proper budget and foundation to promote the plans and agendas, along with fostering political education throughout the black community.
