TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury police are investigating a reported fight between parents and athletes at a youth hockey game Saturday, the department said Wednesday.
A fight broke out among players at the end of an 18U league game between teams from Tewksbury and Raynham, police said. The fight escalated and parents got involved, according to the police news release.
At least one player was cut on the face, but no ambulances were needed.
Officers were called to Breakaway Ice Center around 4 p.m. Saturday for a reported fight.
Police have interviewed the referees and are reviewing surveillance footage from the rink, according to the news release. Detectives are also reviewing footage that was posted to social media.
"Chief [Ryan] Columbus takes the safety of youth and recreational programming in the Town of Tewksbury very seriously," the news release read.
