NEW YORK CITY — Get presents for the holidays, not the coronavirus. New Yorkers only have a few days to start getting doses of COVID-19 vaccine in order to get fully vaccinated by Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or Christmas. Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday outlined a festive set of due dates by holiday and vaccine. "Thanksgiving is coming up soon, but you can still get fully vaccinated," he said. People who get a Johnson & Johnson shot by Thursday will be fully vaccinated by Thanksgiving Day, de Blasio said. Those New Yorkers who haven't received a shot of any vaccine can still be fully vaccinated by Hanukkah if they get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Nov. 14, de Blasio said. Kwanzaa celebrants can be fully vaccinated by the holiday if they get their first Moderna shot by Nov. 14, their first Pfizer dose by Nov. 21 and the Johnson & Johnson shot by Dec. 12. To get fully vaccinated by Christmas, people must get their first Moderna shot by Nov. 13, their first Pfizer dose by Nov. 20 and the Johnson & Johnson shot by Dec. 11.
