Description

These pieces were used as a seat to warm by the fireplace along with being a trivet for hot water boiled in a kettle over the hearth for tea. This brass footman with a wrought iron base features hand-punched pierced design patterns and brass rivets on the top and all three sides, solid curved brass supports under the seat, ornate brass handles on each side and beautiful cabriole front legs with penny feet. And it's in fantastic condition. The more ornate these pieces were made the more they cost at that time so this clearly came from a wealthy English home, most probably in London. It measures about: 13 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W x 10 1/2"D.
