Man Assaults, Robs Woman In Harlem Subway Elevator: Police

EAST HARLEM, NY — Police asked for help Wednesday finding a man accused of assaulting and robbing a woman inside an elevator at a Harlem subway station. The crime happened around 10:25 p.m. on Nov. 1, as the 36-year-old woman stood in the elevator at the 125th Street-Lexington Avenue 4-5-6 station. Video released by police shows the unidentified man stepping inside the elevator, appearing to shout at the woman, then punching her repeatedly and dragging her on the ground out of the elevator. The man then took $50 in cash from the woman and fled, police said. The woman suffered swelling to the face but declined medical attention.
