Description

Posted on behalf of Marjorie Lee We lost longtime and beloved Vienna resident Angelina McIntire to colorectal cancer in May of 2020. Supporting others with this disease was of paramount importance to her. Angelina lived in Vienna her entire youth, graduating from Madison in 1994. Her parents Bob and Mary Lou still live in their Vienna Woods home and Angelina returned frequently throughout adulthood, settling eventually in nearby Falls Church with her husband and fur baby. Angelina was a graduate of Duke University (BA 1998) and also of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service (MSFS 2003). She lived and worked in Costa Rica from January 1999 to May 2001. After her graduation from Georgetown she worked in international development with Chemonics for 10 years. Most recently she was senior leader with the USAID LEARN Project, a role she held close to her heart. She loved to travel, and visited about 60 countries around the world during her life, some for work and some with family or friends for pleasure. She courageously lived with cancer for 3 ½ years with her message to everyone to "be where your feet are." We welcome all of our Vienna neighbors to register for and participate in the Colorectal Cancer Alliance's Blue Hope Bash: One Nation Forward on Saturday, November 13 at 8 PM ET. Be sure to register to enjoy celebrity appearances, inspirational stories, and an opportunity to help address the urgent needs of the colorectal cancer community in honor of Angelina.
