Top Des Moines Band seeking Lead Guitarist

One of central Iowa's top bands is looking for an accomplished lead guitarist! Singing would be a big plus but not completely necessary. We are looking for someone who can step in and learn our sets in short order. You would need to learn 40-60 songs quickly as we have shows lined up through next summer at some of the areas top venues and events including private parties, surrounding town events, and a few weddings. We would be willing to learn songs that you already know as well to help with getting going quickly. We try to gig about 2-3 times a month and normally practice one night a week, usually on Tuesdays from 7-10. Playing a wide variety of top hits from the 70's through today, we have one of the most diverse set lists around and always get the dance floor going! While we do play some of the favorite standards that other bands might play, we really look for challenging songs that not everyone will attempt to do. We play everything from Rush to Bruno Mars... From Lady Gaga to Led Zeppelin... and everything in-between. One thing we are super excited about is that we are currently starting to write our first originals which will take us to a whole new level and really set us apart from other cover bands in the area! We are probably 2-3 practices away from introducing our first song! We have our own dedicated sound/light tech who is at every show and delivers one of the best light and sound shows in the area! There is no doubt that there is a party going on when we're playing! When we play we strive to make it a performance that people will remember and talk about! We all like to have fun and party a little bit but not looking for someone with substance abuse issues. If that's you're thing, we're not interested, This is a serious but low drama band. When we play, we expect everyone to be at their best and deliver a great performance, and you just can't do that if you're all crocked. We have established a good reputation as one of the areas tightest bands and we don't have the time to deal with drama and people who can't be dependable for what ever reason. We all have full time jobs and families which always come first. Our time at practice is precious so we depend on everyone coming prepared. Not to say that we don't have fun and maybe enjoy a drink or 2, but we try and make the most of our time when we practice. We usually try to pick a new song every practice or two to learn. If we all practice it before we meet up, we can usually put a song together in 2-3 run throughs and know if it's going to work or not. We need someone who can come to practice prepared to to do that.
