Reston Man Charged In String Of Convenience Store Robberies

STERLING, VA — A Reston man was arrested Tuesday night and charged in connection with a series of robberies of convenience stores in Loudoun and Fairfax counties, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Members of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force found the suspect, Bresner A. Porres, 30, at a home on Sanibel Drive in Fairfax County. Porres was identified through a joint effort between the LCSO, the Fairfax County Police Department, the Town of Herndon Police Department, and the Town of Leesburg Police Department, according to the LCSO. The LCSO charged him with three counts of robbery of three cashiers in connection with two early morning robberies of 7-Eleven convenience stores in the Sterling area on Nov. 1. Porres is also facing charges for similar robberies in Fairfax County, the Town of Herndon and the Town of Leesburg. SEE ALSO: Man Wanted By Herndon Police For 2 Robberies Taken Into Custody At about 4 a.m. on Nov. 1, LCSO deputies were called to the 7-Eleven in the 700 block of W. Church Road in Sterling, where a man had entered the store and demanded cash. He removed cash from the registers before fleeing the store, according to the LCSO. As deputies responded to the store and established a perimeter, a second robbery was reported around 4:12 a.m. at the 7-Eleven in the 46500 block of S. Cottage Road. In that case, the man threatened the cashier before taking money from the registers. Porres is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond, according to the LCSO.
