Happy Wednesday, Salt Lake City! Let's get this day started. Here's what's going on today in town. First, today's weather: Times of clouds and sun. High: 50 Low: 39. Here are the top stories in Salt Lake City today: University of Utah chemical engineering assistant professor Huanan Zhang has developed a process that turns clothing fabric into biosensors which measure a muscle's electrical activity as it is worn. Zhang and his team devised a method of taking a cotton/polyester blend and turning the fabric into sensors that measure electrical impulses generated from muscle movement. This fabric could then measure muscle activity for patients in rehabilitation instead of biosensors attached to the skin, which are often uncomfortable, effective, and costly.(fox13now.com) Salt Lake County wants to curb smoking, but its target are vehicles emitting smoke that contribute to air pollution in the area. Law enforcement agencies will be targeting the worst offenders, such as modified diesel pick-up trucks that spew clouds of black smoke known as "coal rolling."
