MORRISTOWN, NJ — What qualities should the future superintendent show? What are the biggest issues they'll face? Morris School District officials want to know. The district sent out a survey looking for feedback on its superintendent search. Responses are due by Nov. 18. School officials are looking for feedback from stakeholders, such as students, parents, community members and staff. Former Superintendent Mackey Pendergrast retired from public education Nov. 1, having led Morris schools for six years. Dr. Thomas Ficarra took the interim superintendent role. Ficarra served as the district's superintendent from 2002-14. Read more: Longtime Morris Superintendent To Take Role In Interim Ficarra's contract will run through June 30 or until a permanent superintendent is appointed.
