Description

BALTIMORE, MD — Debris in the road snarled traffic on Interstate 95 south near the Fort McHenry Tunnel Wednesday afternoon. After 3 p.m., officials said one vehicle was involved in the incident. It appeared a tractor-trailer lost some of its load on the roadway. As a result, the two left lanes and left shoulder were closed on I-95 south just before the tunnel. Lane closures remained in effect after 5 p.m., with traffic before the tolls being funneled to the right on I-95 south past Keith Avenue. CHART. The backup came as President Joseph Biden was visiting the Port of Baltimore to promote his infrastructure deal Wednesday afternoon. No ramp or roadway impacts were expected around the Fort McHenry Tunnel associated with Biden's visit, Capt. Kevin Ayd of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police told Patch. By 6:30 p.m., all the delays appeared to have cleared. See the latest lane closure information from state transportation officials.
