AUSTIN, TX — A family-friendly block party in southeast Austin is back to give locals a chance to celebrate fall one last time this weekend. The fourth annual Festival of Good will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Goodnight Ranch Amenity Center, 5601 Baythorne Drive. The festival will follow a fall theme and will continue to celebrate all the "good" in Austin by featuring activities from local vendors and nonprofits, live music, giveaways and food. "We're looking forward to amplifying all the good in Austin and within our Goodnight Ranch community, especially since we weren't able to celebrate last year," said Myra Goepp, Vice President of Benchmark Development, the developer of Goodnight Ranch. "As the festival continues to grow, we want to show current and prospective residents that we're good neighbors who are proud of our incredible community and who enjoy spending time together." Complimentary food will be available for attendees from local food trucks Chi'Lantro BBQ and Stony's Pizza. An assortment of treats will also be provided. David Weekley Homes is sponsoring the music stage, which will feature performances from the uniquely Austin band, The Prairie Dogs, and female-fronted cover band Sister Golden Hair. Homes by Avi will sponsor the PhotoBus and Empire Communities is sponsoring acaramel apple station by The Cupcake Bar, officials said. This year, the Festival of Good will include family-friendly activities that include Toybrary and two craft stations where kids can engage in fall activities, such as painting pumpkins and postcarddecorating. This year, the Festival of Good will include three giveaways for attendees with prizesfeaturing items from Yeti, custom Festival of Good swag, speakers and gift cards. In order to ensure the event is fun for everyone, organizers are asking attendees and vendors to follow CDC guidelines regarding COVID safety. This includes staying home if you are feeling unwell, wearing masks when interacting with others and socially distancing by staying 6 feet away from others.
