SAN ANSELMO, CA — The town of San Anselmo will hold an event this weekend that aims to push back against hate.
The town's Racial Equity Committee on Sunday will kick off the inaugural event Sunday at 2 p.m. at Creek Park (249 Sir Francis Drake Blvd.).
The event is being held in conjunction with a nationwide United Against Hate initiative.
This year's theme, "Hate Has No Home Here," reflects the committee's efforts to intentionally create an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive community, town officials said in a statement announcing the event.
"Come learn more about what the committee is doing to foster a thriving, diverse home for all residents," town officials said in a statement.
The event will feature speakers including town councilmembers, Marin County Supervisor Katie Rice, and Committee Chair Tiffany McElroy.
The event will feature live music, dance with Rhythm Village, a collective art creation and gourmet eats and drink from Baan Thai and Taco Janes.
The event is sponsored by Wink Optics (formerly Sunglass City) and Alamere Real Estate.
