Hoboken Adds Kids' Pfizer Vaccine Clinics At 3 New Locations

HOBOKEN, NJ — After adding several free pediatric COVID-19 vaccine clinics early this week, the city of Hoboken announced that they have added appointments and new locations for clinics Wednesday, Thursday (Veteran's Day), and Saturday, and they hope to add a new uptown clinic on Saturday. So far, 456 children have been vaccinated at Hoboken's pediatric clinics: 231 on Monday and 225 on Tuesday. The city also announced this week that for a fifth week in a row, no Hoboken residents are hospitalized with COVID-19. Six weeks ago, nine people were battling the virus in the city's hospital. Since the start of the pandemic, Hoboken has had 5,988 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 56 fatalities. Why Vaccinate Children? Nationally, more than 750,000 Americans have now died from COVID-19, the majority over 18. Those who advocate vaccinating children point out that they may spread the disease to those who are more vulnerable, including their own caregivers. More than 140,000 children in America have lost a caregiver to COVID-19, the CDC estimates, "who provided the child's home and basic needs, including love, security, and daily care." The intends to have an additional pediatric vaccine clinic on Saturday, Nov. 13, at Elysian Charter School, 1460 Garden St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., if they get additional pediatric vaccines.
