FREEHOLD, NJ — The Freehold Fire Department is holding a fundraiser for the families affected by a "devastating" fire on Nov. 1 that killed two dogs.
The fire broke out in a duplex on Lenoir Avenue. The two families who lived there suffered "significant losses," according to the Freehold Fire Department.
The department is asking people to donate gift cards, cash and checks. Clothing items are not being collected at this time.
"Our community has always helped those in need," the department said in a statement.
Anyone who wants to contribute can drop off their donations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Monetary donations can also be made by Venmo to @FreeholdFire.
All donations will go directly to both families affected by the fire.
