Kennywood's Holiday Lights: Santa Can Ride Jack Rabbit This Year

WEST MIFFLIN, PA —The pandemic turned of the the power to Kennywood's Holiday Lights last year, the popular event returns with more than a million lights illuminating the amusement park as it concludes its 2021 season. Holiday Lights begins on Nov. 19 and won't conclude until Jan. 2 - the first time Kennywood has been open in January in its 124-year history. Along with the 100-foot-tall tree, the tallest in Pennsylvania, visitors can enjoy light shows around the lagoon, eat with St. Nick at Dinner with Santa and enjoy live entertainment. Weather permitting, the Gran Prix and Jack Rabbit will join the Holiday Lights ride lineup, marking the first time a Kennywood coaster will operate in winter. Visitors will also enjoy a model train display courtesy of the Pittsburgh Independent Hi-Railers, a walk-through petting zoo, and can write letters to Santa. The all-new holiday dining menu includes a traditional Christmas dinner at the Parkside Cafe, apple pie pizza, warm snickerdoodle s'mores and, for adults, flavored hot toddies and seasonal beers. Guests can also help make history on Nov. 26, when Kennywood hopes to participate in the world's largest ugly sweater party. Kennywood and its sister parks – Lake Compounce, Dutch Wonderland and Castle Park – will join together to create a cross-country celebration and add a multi-location record for ugly sweater celebrations. Holiday Lights kicks off with a special season passholder preview on Nov, 19, then opening everyone on Nov. 20 and continuing Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 24. The event will conclude with post-Christmas evenings Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.
