LAKE FOREST, CA — A retired Colonel in the U.S. Army and now United States Senator for the 34th district is recognizing anyone in Lake Forest who flies the flag on Veteran's Day, Nov. 11, 2021.
Sen. Tom Umberg wants to show military families that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
According to Umberg, on Veterans Day, flying the American flag outside one's home or hanging it in one's windows is the best way to support military families by showing them that either their sacrifices or the sacrifices of their loved ones have not been forgotten.
"If people fly the flag on Veterans Day, as veterans ourselves, my wife (a retired Brigadier General with the U.S. Army) and I would like to send a thank-you note," Umberg says. "Many do so in remembrance of a family member in particular, and I would love the opportunity to recognize the sacrifice of those individuals and honor those stories."
The thank you from Sen. Umberg is offered not only to residents in the North Orange County cities he represents (Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, Garden Grove, Los Alamitos, Midway City, Orange, Santa Ana, Seal Beach and Westminster), bu to anyone who shares their family's journey. Senator Umberg is requesting the following information:
