Ringling College of Art and Design is seeking a Groundskeeper to join the dedicated staff who provide general maintenance and upkeep of Ringling College owned and leased grounds. Duties include but are not limited to mowing and edging lawns, trimming and pruning trees and bushes, pressure washing, weeding and detailing landscaped areas and flowerbeds, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems. Groundskeepers will have the ability to work with minimal supervision, and work under the general supervision of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. This position comes into regular contact with co-workers and supervisors along with occasional and casual contact with visitors, students, staff members, faculty, etc. while performing the duties of the job. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and in emergency situations and subject to “on-call” responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Possess a valid Florida’s Driver’s license. • Experience in grounds maintenance. Required: This position requires physical ability to lift 50 pounds; work from ladders and lift with arms extended; core strength; manual dexterity, and wrist-finger movements. Preferred Qualifications: • Commercial experience in the proper methods used in planting and maintaining hedges, trees, shrubs, lawns, and flowers in the subtropical regions of Florida. • Certification in Green Industry – Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Limited Commercial. • Florida Fertilizer Applicator License. • Florida Limited Lawn and Ornamental Applicator License. • Landscape construction and irrigation repair and installation.
