Following in the ugly tradition of Charlie Chan, Fu Manchu, Dr. No, Cain (Kung Fu), and Mr. Moto, Hollywood yet again refuses to give the lead role of an Asian character to an Asian actor. This time it's Morbius, a Japanese vampire created by Marvel comics who first appeared in 101st issue of "The Amazing Spider-Man". As far as I know, Jared Leto isn't Japanese or any other kind of Asian. This time around, however, instead of a white actor playing an Asian character, Hollywood changed Morbius' race and ethnicity to allow the casting of the white actor.
