Weekly Writing Workshop 12/1/21 - 1/26-22

I am starting a writing group. The group will consist of 4-8 storytellers who, like me, consider writing to be an essential part of who they are. We will meet once a week via Zoom, on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm. The initial session will be 8 weeks (12/1/21 - 1/26/22), at which point we will re-evaluate and adjust as necessary, with the hope that the group will continue. During the session, each writer will read 10-15 minutes of his/her/their work (depending on the size of the group). After each reading, if the writer is amenable, we will have 5 minutes of supportive feedback. I will employ a timer as a means to keep readings and discussions on schedule. Writers who want to continue discussion and sharing of material are strongly encouraged to correspond via email or through virtual meetings. The Wednesday night meeting is meant to be the axis that brings us together, and its sole function is to keep the writers writing. As with any writing group, it is essential that we trust each other, respect each other’s privacy and refrain from judgment. This is to be a safe, protected forum for our stories. If you would like to be considered for the group, I will request a one page sample of your writing. I will email invitations to those who I feel would be a good fit.
