Applicant must be a legal US Citizen and pass a background check (if there is a background history, let us know and we may be able to work with you). Applicant must feel comfortable speaking with guests. Applicant must get along with all types of people from greatly differing backgrounds. We are an equal opportunity employer. Applicant must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs and do repetitive motions for 1-2 hours at a time. This job does involve some routine, but events and tasks can vary greatly from week to week and sometimes on short notice. The challenge is staying on top of the routine aspects while adapting to changes in the event schedule. Another challenge is switching gears from one task to another, for example going from watching a door for 2 hours into taking out the trash, sweeping, vacuuming, etc, and then at times setting tables for an event, for example. This position includes both working alone and working with a team at times. The full time position is Weds-Sunday 7:30 - 4pm or Weds-Sunday 12-8:30. We can accommodate some flexibility in schedule and different levels of availability but weekends are often quite busy. We need someone who is reliable and can commit to their schedule. The ability to stay late on certain event days is a huge plus. Overtime is available at times. Responsibilities include: - Keeping certain areas clean with daily vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, taking out garbage, wiping down counters, brushing toilets, restocking paper goods, and other general cleaning tasks. This should be done daily, primarily during the week when there are no events or higher priority tasks to accomplish although it is sometimes required between events. This is something that we ask you to take personal responsibility for. - General maintenance of grounds - Removal of garbage on sidewalks, in parking lot, on lawn, etc. This is needed daily, typically in the morning. - Daily checking and replacing of water jugs at water dispensing machines. - Light security - unlocking doors during certain events and standing at the door as a monitor/greeter and then relocking the doors. This occurs multiple times a week, largely after 5:30 and mostly from Friday - Sunday but also during the week at times. This also includes reporting of suspicious persons, routinely checking doors and security vulnerabilities and being aware of safety and security. - Setting up and breaking down for events: This includes moving tables, chairs, dancefloors, tents, and setting them in a manner according to a set up sheet. This also includes setting books out, setting candles, etc. This occurs up to several times a week, sometimes it is required to flip a room and immediately set up for the next event. - Audio/Video Setups: Setting up & plugging in microphones, amps, music stands, projectors, utilizing proper cable dressing to keep the stage safe and neat looking and sound checking. We will provide training for this. This is something that may be done 0-3x a week or so. - Light Catering: Making coffee, lemonade, water, setting out food, washing dishes, and storing leftover food after events. - Maintenance: At times you will need to use ladders or hydraulic lifts to change lights up to 30 feet high. You may be required to do minor repairs and maintenance such as gluing something broken, pressure washing, shoveling snow, sweeping leaves, tightening/replacing screws, blowing down boilers, waxing floors, painting, removing graffiti, reporting maintenance issues, etc. - Depending on the time of your shift, opening or closing. Closing: You will also be closing a large facility which means turning off lights, turning off appliances, locking and checking all doors, and arming alarm systems. Opening: You will be unlocking certain doors, turning on certain lights, deactivating alarm systems, etc.
