Job Description: Under the direction of the Supervisor, this position is responsible for leading and performing janitorial duties for educational building and related areas. Superior customer service will be provided, as well company policies and procedures followed at all times. Knowledge of proper cleaning procedures and techniques are essential this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Daily job responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Implement, oversee and participate in the janitorial activities of assigned employees. Provide direction, assign and review work of assigned employees. Submit daily reports to Supervisor and/or Manager at the end of each shift. Reports should include; completed tasks, incidents, supply and building maintenance and concerns, etc. Answer and/or confirm any requests received via phone call, email and text messages on a timely manner. Vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing, dusting, washing and mopping of assigned areas. Clean and sanitize restrooms. Restock supplies. Empty trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as needs. Clean windowsills, windows, blinds, countertops, partitions and mirrors. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. Clean baseboards, doors and frames. Maintain janitorial closets and carts in a clean, organized and safe manner. Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition. Proper labeling, dilution and use of chemicals. Report need repairs and safety hazards; report infractions of rules to supervisor. Maintain and inspect windows, doors and locks in assigned areas, to ensure all are properly secured. General maintenance of grounds. Loads and unloads supplies, moves heavy furniture and equipment using, dollies, handcarts or using team lift. May perform ground maintenance including snow removal of sidewalks, salting walkways and debris removal from parking lots. Must be able to meet attendance work schedules with dependability and consistency. Tardiness and unexcused absences will place hardship on coworkers and interfere with cleaning schedules. Order supplies according to guidelines. Perform other routine maintenance duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques, and standards. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Good customer service skills. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions. Ability to work effectively with a team, as well as independently. Ability to meet and lead other to meet schedules and timelines. Ability to train and provide work directions to others. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of one year or more related experience. Background check satisfactory Motor vehicle record satisfactory Working Environment: The work is performed at an educational setting, with a wide variety of people with different personalities, functions and abilities. Physical Demands: The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Items over fifty pounds will require a team lift. Carrying a backpack vacuum for an extended period of time. This job description is not an employment agreement or contract.
