Hello, I am a 20-year-old artist and NYC native currently struggling amidst the pandemic. Getting kicked out of home by abusive and controlling parents at 18, only a few months before the beginning of the pandemic, finding financial stability has been a fleeting and difficult experience. As of late I had a restaurant job I thought would be easy to maintain, but 3 weeks ago ended up in the emergency room after a psychological break, losing the job in the process as they were cutting employees and hours. Since then, it's been craigslist gigs keeping me afloat, but not enough to support my bills this month, putting me at risk of eviction. As of right now my rent is 600/month with approx. 75/month in utilities.
