Generator Install Technician Company Overview Since 2012, NH Generator Installers has been selling, installing and servicing whole home back-up generators throughout New Hampshire and surrounding areas. Our team is dedicated to providing top-quality products and unmatched customer service. We are a professional, reliable, hard working team that takes pride in working with our customers to provide reliable power all year round. Position The Startup Generator Installation Technician will be a key part of our installation team, working along with our licensed electricians to interact with our customers, kick-off each job and complete the job safely, following all code requirements and local guidelines and to the specifications that were agreed to with the customer. Reporting to the General Manager, the install technician will assist with installations as well as lead the generator start-up process and review instructions and service plan with the customer before signing off on the completed job. Key Responsibilities Installation Lay underground cable directly in trenches, or string it through conduits running through trenches. Pull cable through ducts by hand Dig trenches for underground wires, cables and gas piping. Fill and tamp holes, using earth and tamping devices. Generator Start-up Test Generator set up service for customers, installing, connecting, testing, or adjusting equipment Explain generator maintenance and service program and scheduling to customers after installation is fully complete and collect any outstanding balances due. Shop work Prep generators and vans for upcoming installs Assist with inventory Assist with maintaining a clean and safe work shop Qualifications: Problem Solving — Identifying issues, reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Strong written and verbal Communication — Must be able to convey information to internal team and customers effectively as well as demonstrate active listening. Equipment Maintenance — Identify when maintenance is required and if needed, perform routine maintenance on equipment. Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate solution. Escalate when needed. Troubleshooting — Triage causes of operating errors on the generators and then determine required steps to resolve. Dependability — Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling job responsibilities. Attention to Detail — Job requires strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks with high quality. Cooperation — Collaborate well with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Minimum Requirements: Previous experience maintaining or repairing equipment and small engines preferred but not required Able to travel to job sites for each day. Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis Must have a valid drivers license Drive a company vehicle safely Willing to work over-time when requested. Willing to work outside year round, except in extreme weather. High School Diploma or equivalent Job Type: Full-time Pay: hourly pay, overtime and bonus potential based on performance Schedule: 8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Work Location: Company Shop in Concord, Multiple customer locations
