Parents & Kids Hockey Night at Gila River Arena , December 28,29,30 @ 8pm So many parents have expressed interest in getting on the ice with their kid(s)—here’s an uncommon opportunity to do that. This is an informal, fun and safe way to enjoy the game with the added thrill of playing on NHL ice, sitting on an NHL player bench and having your own “NHL Moment”. Skill level: participants are expected to have rudimentary skating basics: stopping, turning and on-ice awareness along with some basic hockey playing experience. While this is not intended to be a “learn how to play hockey” opportunity, it’s also not a place for NHL tryouts. (There will be no NHL scouts) Equipment: participants must have their own skates and wear a helmet while on the ice. Full equipment is suggested but not required; especially for parents, less recent hockey-playing experience suggests more padding and protective gear. Refunds: Gila River Arena requires payment for ice time in advance of the event; think carefully when registering. A refund will be issued only if your spot(s) can be filled. Of course, if the event is cancelled because of low registrations or due to COVID, you will get a full refund.
