(60 capacity // Masks required) Our November presentation: Introducing Theraplay®: An Intervention to Enhance Resilience and Positive Mental Health Come hear a brief overview of Theraplay, a trauma-sensitive, relationship-focused intervention for children and families. Theraplay is based on neuroscience and the natural patterns of playful, healthy interaction between parents and children. It is personal, physical and fun! Theraplay interactions create warm emotional connections that, in turn, create a strong sense of community and belonging. The Theraplay principles and methods can change a child’s view of themselves as worthy and lovable and create strong attachments to important adults in their life. These beliefs and feelings have long been understood to be the basis of lifelong good mental health and the mainstay of resilience in the face of adversity. These Theraplay principles can be used by a wide array of clinical service providers, school personnel and community workers to build healthier children and families and stronger communities. ////In addition to learning about mental health, MHN's monthly RoundTable is a great place to make new connections in the community.
