Description

The Appalachian Mountain Club's New York/North Jersey Chapter is proud to announce our 2022 Winter Weekend for 20s and 30s! The Appalachian Mountain Club's New York/North Jersey Chapter is proud to announce our 2022 Winter Weekend for 20s and 30s. This year, we will be returning to scenic Killington, Vermont, where we will stay three nights at the Turn of River Lodge and enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, and other winter activities nearby. This trip is for you to "choose your own adventure": there will not be a set schedule of events, but we will do our best to pre-arrange hikes and trips to nearby activities. Often, people decide what activities they want to do on the trip itself. FAQs What does my ticket fee cover? Your ticket fee covers three nights of lodging at the Turn of River Lodge. Additional activities are yours to explore at their own individual prices. If there is enough interest, we can attempt to secure group rates for ski tickets, rentals, or other activities (we were successfully able to do so for ski tickets in 2020). What should I bring to the event? Winter weather gearIf you wish, any gear for activities you'll be participating in (though most will be available for rent).A sleeping bag (however, the lodge is heated)ToiletriesLight snack or breakfast foodA sense of adventure! What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? In previous years, we have organized group carpools. Please let the organizer know if you need a ride and we will do everything in our power to arrange! Parking is available at the lodge. If you are driving, please be sure to prepare for winter road conditions. What's the refund policy? Full refunds are available until a month before the event. Within 30 days, refunds are only available if you exchange your ticket with someone else who wants to go. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please email John Perilli at [email protected] and Ryan Tang at [email protected] IMPORTANT NOTES AND DISCLAIMERS: Given that we will be lodging indoors in shared spaces, anyone attending this trip will be required to show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of arrival. This ticket is for lodging only. We should have light breakfast at the lodge, and typically do group dinners (including a pizza party one night), but lunch is often taken at a particular activity (i.e. on the ski slopes). Due to the prohibitive costs of trip insurance and the unlikelihood of a "storm of the century" scenario where we would need to cancel the trip entirely, you assume the risk of last-minute, weather-related cancellation without a refund when you buy your ticket. Again, it is highly unlikely that we will need to cancel, but given the winter weather, it needs to be an option for the safety of those attending. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact the organizer. The AMC is a non-profit organization involved in the preservation, stewardship, and protection of the mountains, forests, and waterways where we recreate and find spiritual renewal.
