You do not want to miss this powerful documentary film premiere with the director! #Bang4Change Documentary: Immediately following the murder of George Floyd, feeling like he had to do something, activist and filmmaker Ferin Kidd flew to Minneapolis to document the protests. A chance encounter pairing him with a courageous demonstrator named Ashley, Ferin follows her lead as she navigates the dangers and complexities of the protests. Incorporating the MSMU campus read Dave Isay’s Callings: The Purpose and Passion of Work, through Ferin Kidd’s Documentary #Bang4Change we recognize and exhibit lives that were cut short and never got the chance to live out their life calling (George Floyd, Breaonna Taylor, Elijah McClain and many others). When life is cut short, where does that leave family members and communities? How does it impact their calling? Immediately following the film screening will be a Q&A panel with the Director and esteemed community members regarding Black Mental Health and the impacts on Black & Brown Communities.
