WALTHAM, MA — Brandeis University has been ranked twelfth in the country and second in Massachusetts for its online business MBA program by AcademicInfluence.com, a website that works to provide objective, non-gameable, influence-based rankings for the people, schools, and programs that make up higher education. Brandeis is one of three schools in the state that made the list, along with the University of Massachusetts Amherst, ranked eleventh in the country, and Babson College, ranked twenty-first. "Massachusetts residents should know that a school near them has been nationally recognized for providing top-flight educational opportunities in the most accommodating format possible -- online!" said Academicinfluence.com in a news release. "Today, there are more than 5 million students studying online. Online degrees from reputable colleges and universities are just as good as their on-campus counterparts. The only difference is the flexibility and accessibility." According to Academicinfluence.com, nearly 70 percent of online degree students select a program in their home state. This is because in-state colleges and universities are most likely the more affordable options and people tend to prefer schools they're familiar with. In addition, MBA degrees are the second most popular degrees earned across all demographics and it ranks as the most desired degree among minorities, according to the National Center for Educational Statistics.
