Family and Friends of Mike Harman Gather for Memorial Bench Dedication.... On Sunday morning, November 7th at 11am, under the brilliant sun on the grounds of the Public Safety Building, a group of close friends and family of Capt. Mike Harman gathered to view the Memorial Bench which was unveiled and dedicated in his honor. Reflected in the granite of the bench are the faces of many of Mike's loved ones. Looking at the crowd gathered, it looked like a a sea of red, as many wore Mike Harman tee-shirts or Mike Harman sweatshirts which were sold as a fundraiser honoring Mike's memory and helping to fund the cost of this memorial bench. MHS Alumni Association member and friend, Leeann Bravo along with fellow MHS graduate and Harman classmate, Louis Scaramuzzo, spoke at the gathering and had the honor of unveiling the bench. Bravo, "Today we dedicate the Captain Michael D. Harman, Jr. Memorial Bench. Thank you to the Harman family for the support in helping make this possible and to all those who bought shirts to make this possible, we appreciate you. To Louis Scaramuzzo [thank you] for all your help getting the [bench] foundation completed and the bench secured. We hope the Medfield community will enjoy this bench for many years to come. We lost one of the best, but his memory will remain. Thank you, Captain Harman, for all you have done for Medfield." Sue Harman followed by saying a few words about Mike, "I know he would be very proud and very thankful." Sue invites everyone in town to stop by and see the bench. Take a seat. Rest for a while. Mike was all about helping others and loved this community, so he would want people to enjoy this beautiful addition to the grounds of the Medfield Public Safety Building. Captain Michael D. Harman's legacy will live on. He will not be forgotten. RIP my friend.
