Here are the top stories in Denver today: A SWAT officer shot a Denver Hells Angels Motorcycle Club member with a projectile during a 2019 raid, and now he is suing police over use of force. The projectile was meant to break a door lock, but when the member opened the door, the projectile struck and critically injured him, court documents show. The member is accused of helping other members kidnap and severely beat a man in 2019. (Paywall - The Denver Post)Vehicle thefts are on the rise in Denver, and for some people, the thefts can be devastating and life-changing. Some thieves target medical facilities, where some of Colorado's most vulnerable families park their cars while loved ones are hospitalized. (CBS Denver) Prosecutors will not charge an Arvada police officer in the June shooting of Samaritan Johnny Hurley, the Jeffco district attorney announced Monday. Officers believed Hurley was a second mass shooter, the DA said. (Arvada Patch) The U.S. House of Representatives voted late Friday to pass the $1 trillion infrastructure bill, one of two key parts of President Joe Biden's domestic agenda. The bill would provide funding in Colorado for public transit, federal railways, roads, bridges, clean drinking water, high speed internet and investment in electric vehicles.
