2 Arrested After Annapolis Killing Of Baltimore Man: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police announced that they arrested two suspects Thursday in connection with the fatal Annapolis shooting of a Baltimore man. Officers identified the arrestees as 23-year-old Shammond Taylor and 21-year-old Kenon Jackson, both of Annapolis. The suspects face multiple charges in last month's killing of 23-year-old Cornell Young, a press release mentioned. Authorities noted that Taylor is up against 23 charges, including first- and second-degree murder. Officials added that Jackson is looking at 13 offenses, the most serious of which is first-degree murder. Working with the Baltimore Police Department, Annapolis officers arrested Taylor in the 400 block of Baltimore's Eutaw Street. The Annapols Police Department arrested Jackson at the Ordnance Road Correctional Center, where he was already held on unrelated charges. Authorities took the duo into custody without incident. Both suspects await trial without bond. The Shooting The write-up stated that Young died at an unnamed hospital after he was shot Oct. 14 in downtown Annapolis around 1 p.m. The initial call on the police scanner alleged that the shooting happened behind the Graduate Annapolis hotel, located at 126 West Street. Officers later confirmed that the shooting occurred in the unit block of Pleasant Street, which dead-ends at a parking lot behind the inn.
