Get into the holiday spirit as Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet presents excerpts of the classic holiday tale, The Nutcracker, at Shreve Memorial Library Broadmoor Branch. The program will take place Monday, November 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45p.m., in the Reading Room at the branch, located at 1212 Captain Shreve Drive. The program is free, and families with children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Registration, masks, and social distancing are required.
Each year Shreve Memorial Library and the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet partner to bring holiday cheer, culture and an appreciation for the art of classical ballet dance to the community free of charge. Cast members of the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet will bring characters from The Nutcracker to life by performing excerpts from the ballet.
The Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet presents excerpts from its full-length ballets at public libraries, community centers, hospitals, retirement homes, and other community venues free of charge. Their mission is to educate the community in the art of classical ballet, and enhance the cultural life of the community by presenting professional full-length ballets, and provide opportunity and education for all interested, and qualified dancers to showcase their talents in staged productions, lectures and demonstrations.
